BISP Taleemi Wazaif Program
The Benazir Education Scholarship Program is a conditional financial assistance scheme of the Government of Pakistan, under which children from BISP-registered families are given financial stipends every quarter (after three months) to continue their education. The program aims to reduce poverty and keep children in school. The scope of the scheme is from primary to higher secondary and covers children in the age group of 4 to 22 years. What are the eligibility criteria for the BISP Taleemi Wazaif Program?
To benefit from this program, families and children must meet the following conditions:
BISP sponsorship registration
The child’s mother or guardian must be eligible for the BISP sponsorship program.
Ghorbart score
The family’s PMT (Poverty Means Test) score should be less than 32, as determined by the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER).
What are the child’s age and educational enrollment limits?
The program covers children of different ages according to their educational level:
- Primary Education: Age 4 to 12 years, enrolled in a recognized school
- Secondary Education: Age 8 to 18 years, Class 6 to 10
- Higher Secondary Education: Age 10 to 22 years, Class 11 to 12
What is the school attendance requirement?
Children must have at least 70% attendance in school. The school management will regularly share this attendance with BISP to continue the scholarship.
Which children are included on a priority basis?
The program prioritizes orphans, children from very poor families, and children living below the poverty line.
Note:
- If the family is not registered in BISP Kafal, first registration there is mandatory.
- The double benefit is avoided for children who are already benefiting from another government scholarship.
How much is the stipend?
Wazifa is given to children after every quarter (3 months) based on educational level and gender. Girls are given more money to encourage their education.

How to register offline for BISP Taleemi Wazaif Program?
1. Visit the nearest BISP tehsil office or registration camp
There are centers in urban and rural areas.
2. Bring the necessary documents
- Mother’s CNIC
- Child’s B-Form or Birth Certificate
- School Admission Certificate
- Attendance record (if available)
3. Complete the NSER survey
If not already registered, participate in the Socioeconomic Survey.
4. Fill the education scholarship form
Complete the form from the office and submit it along with all required documents.
5. Verification process
BISP officials verify school attendance and poverty score from NSER.
6. Notification via SMS
A confirmation message will be received from 8171, after which the disbursement of the stipend will begin.
